How You Can Overcome Your Procrastination

There is good news for the disorganized person who can’t seem to manage their time.  You can get rid of procrastination.  Follow a few simple tips and you will be on your way to having procrastination under control.

If you believe you can do something, you can achieve it.  Set your goals high and meet them by getting motivated and organized.  Get organized by following a few easy steps.  Plan your day, listing your tasks, and setting up deadlines to finish them.  Make it your goal to finish them ahead of time.  When you do, reward yourself.  Get rid of clutter by cleaning your desk.  Get rid of anything you don’t need.

Ease anxiety about any task by not thinking about your success or failure before you even begin the project.  Don’t wait to begin until you can conceptualize the entire project.  Begin to conceptualize and work simultaneously.

Try to estimate how long it will take you to complete each task.  Don’t overestimate your ability to finish a task too quickly.  When it comes to time management, learn to use the word ‘No.’ Don’t try to do everything at one time.  Don’t accept every single offer of work.  Accept work that you can do and need, just say no to the rest.

Use the tools and programs on your computer to keep things organized.  Keep your information together in a database.  Additionally, keep a close check on your email inbox; try to clear it out every day.  Create a system to categorize emails that you need to keep.  Respond to emails as you reach them when you are able to do so.

Make and prioritize current, medium, and long term goals.  Keep the current goals foremost in your mind.  Don’t overload yourself with expectations.  This will help keep you calm and moving forward without feeling overwhelmed.  Once you do this you will move toward success.  Plan time for relaxation and pleasure as a reward and source of energy.  Don’t create a schedule that is so hectic it will create too much pressure on you.

Take charge of your time, follow these simple tips, and make your time count.  Commit these steps and you will make great progress with your procrastination.
